Construction works have started for the Brooklyn Clean Energy Hub, a transmission substation of 1.5GW of capacity. The project's site is located on the East River, United States.
Estimated investment for the conclusion of the facility, which is being built in the Vinegar Hill neighbourhood in Brooklyn, is US$810m.
The hub will provide renewable energy, mainly coming from offshore wind developments, to approximately 750,000 homes in Brooklyn's southeastern area.
Developer Con Edison expects operations to begin in 2028.
