Octopus Energy has announced investments for the third and fourth developments phases of the Borssele offshore wind farm in the Netherlands. Combined, the two phases will have a capacity of 732MW.
The Borssele complex is operational since 2021 in the Dutch North Sea. It's considered one of continental Europe's largest offshore wind farms, featuring 77 turbines with 9.5MW of capacity each.
Octopus Energy acquired a 10% stake in the project previously owned by Partners Group.
The purchase follows a recent announcement by Octopus Energy disclosing the company's plans to invest US$20bn in offshore wind throughout the world.
