Developer Vattenfall has disclosed that its Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind project has finished construction. The wind farm in the Dutch North Sea has been officially inaugurated by King Willem-Alexander.
According to Vattenfall, Hollandse Kust Zuid is the world's largest offshore wind farm, featuring 139 turbines and a capacity of 1.5GW. Once the facility enters operations next year, it will be able to power approximately 1.5 million homes.
The project is owned by Vattenfall with Badische Anilin- und Sodafabrik (BASF) and Allianz.
