A 380MWp solar power project developed by TotalEnergies has entered operations. Named Myrtle, the solar farm also features a 225MWh energy storage systems (ESSs).
The plant was built in Houston, Texas, and includes 705,000 photovoltaic panels, while the energy storage element features 114 EES containers. Myrtle is capable to power approximately 70,000 homes.
According to TotalEnergies, 70% of Myrtle's output will supply the company's industrial plants in the US Gulf Coast.
The remaining 30% has been secured by Kilroy Realty through a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
