Metsähallitus and Vattenfall's joint venture for the Korsnäs offshore wind farm in Finland have agreed to expand the project's scope. Following the decision of the two parties, the future plant will have its capacity increased to 2GW.
Vattenfall joined Metsähallitus in the initiative in December 2022 after winning an extensive international tendering process. Both the companies have opted for using the optional area that came with the transaction.
Currently, the plans for Korsnäs cover an area of 27,400 hectares in the region of Ostrobothnia.
