SSE Renewables has received planning consent from Scottish authorities for the development of the Cloiche wind farm. The project's site is adjacent to the operational Stronelairg wind farm and the Glendoe hydroelectric scheme in the Scottish Highlands.
Cloiche is planned to feature 29 turbines which combined will sum up to 125MW of generation capacity. This amount is equivalent to the needs of more than 150,000 homes in the UK per year, and will also avoid 190,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually.
SSE Renewables expects construction works to start in 2026.
