Samsung Engineering has been chosen by Alujain Corporation to perform front end engineering design (FEED) works for a new petrochemical complex in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.
The FEED contract's value is estimated at US$19.4m. Until May 2024, Samsung Engineering will coordinate the works in its offices in Seoul, South Korea.
The petrochemical complex will be built in the Medina Province as part of the Yanbu Industrial Complex. It will process more than 600,000 tonnes per annum of polypropylene, polypropylene compounds, and specialised construction materials from polypropylene derivatives.
Samsung Engineering has also expressed interest to win the EPC contract for the project, which should be launched in 2024.
