The Thi Vai liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Vietnam has officially entered operations according to an announcement by developer Petrovietnam Gas (PV Gas).
The company has also stated that this is Vietnam's first LNG import terminal to date. Now that it is up an running, Thi Vai will support the country's energy security.
The facility was designed with a capacity of one million tonnes of LNG per year. This amount is expected to increase to 3 million tonnes once phase 2 of the project comes online.
