The Clean Path New York consortium has contracted Prysmian Group for the supply of a submarine and land power cable system to the project, a wind and solar development in the United States worth US$11bn.
Clean Path New York will see the installation of 20 new wind and solar power plants with a combined capacity of 3.8GW, enough to provide 7.5 million MWh of clean energy and power over 1.5 million homes in New York.
These facilities will be connected to a new 175-mile, underground and underwater high-voltage direct current (HVDC) to be designed, manufactured, built, installed and commissioned by Prysmian Group.
The contract for the transmission line was valued at approximately US$950m.
